   The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) grandly opened in Guangzhou on April 15. Focusing on cutting-edge trends of innovation, green development and intelligence, this session has reached a record high in both exhibition scale and the number of participating enterprises.    On April 15, at the advanced manufacturing exhibition area of the 139th Canton Fair, the booth of Shandong Friend Control System Co., Ltd. attracted a steady stream of visitors. At the booth, Ms. Wei Huilin, the company’s Deputy Operations Director, and her colleagues showcased high-precision monocrystalline silicon pressure sensors to overseas buyers while introducing their technical advantages.

   On the first day of the fair, nearly 30 overseas merchants expressed cooperation intentions with FRD Sensor. “This is our first participation in the Canton Fair, and we greatly appreciate the strong recommendation and support from the Zibo Municipal Bureau of Commerce,” said an excited Ms. Wei.

   In the early days, FRD Sensor was mainly an instrument trading company relying on outsourced core components. “We were just like an assembler. With key technologies in others’ hands, our profit margins were thin and our development was constrained,” Ms. Wei noted.

   A turning point came in 2012. The company made a crucial strategic decision: to shift from trade agency to independent R&D and master its own “core technologies”. Since then, FRD Sensor embarked on a decade-long journey of technological breakthroughs. It introduced high-end talents, invested heavily in equipment, and continuously allocated more than 8% of annual sales revenue to research and development, with a clear goal: to conquer core technologies of high-precision sensors long monopolized by foreign players.

   After a decade of dedicated efforts, FRD Sensor has successively broken through key technical barriers including monocrystalline silicon packaging, testing and compensation technologies, as well as triple-diaphragm overload protection technology. It has not only achieved localized and large-scale production of high-precision monocrystalline silicon pressure sensors, but also elevated product accuracy to internationally advanced levels. Today, the company owns 65 independent intellectual property rights and has participated in the formulation of 7 national standards, transforming from a “learner” purchasing core components into a “supplier” exporting proprietary core parts to many countries and regions worldwide.
